Song: In the process of seeking the way of art, what do you think is the source of using point to modeling in the context of ink and wash?
Chen: At first, I haven’t think too much about the source of the point of view in traditional ink and wash, I want to find a kind of personal form, but then, more and more feel my mood and “wrinkle method” of traditional landscape alike, my point is a kind of “wrinkle method”, it’s also accumulated over and over again, deliberately manage my “city landscape”, this state of mood is probably similar to the ancients, if you want to say that is derived from the traditional landscape, but this landscape is not just landscape!

Song:where is the difficulty of this way?
Chen: “Point” as a sort of abstract language, how to use point modeling and embody various kinds relationship of the visual are very hard, the modeling of Chinese traditional painting is particular about like and not like, my works are free from the concrete and abstract, grasp the degree between the two, related to whether the work is mature, too much concrete will float on the surface of the language, too much abstract there is no specific shape, empty in concept. This degree of certainty is completely adjusted according to the final picture.

Song: Why did you choose this visual language?
Chen Jun: I don’t agree with the “choice” of these two words, from some of the "point" factors in the early picture, Painting more I have some inspiration, feel express the concept need for symbolic language, slowly the "point" that is stripped out of my picture, from the concrete to the abstract to the extreme, later, this style was formed, this language is not an option, but a result, language is not isolated, he wants to match the ideas expressed.
Song: The present work is only the exploration and experiment of ink painting, or is it with your personal feelings?
Chen: In the beginning is in the pure exploration, I tried a new kind of ink and wash language, but the language in some cases is consistent with their own "mind", I just dig out of my own potential “mind’’, from this point of view, also with my personal feelings, the language without feeling is not effective!

Song: If there is such a fusion, how to embody in different series of works?
Chen: This is the relationship of content and form, I continued to read the city in this language, my language and my used night scene symbol, has been blended into one, the language is first established, I just use different angles to read, there are a variety of expressions continued for a subject, in order to make the problem more profound. Maybe later will use this language express other contents, the integration between the two is really another project in front of me!
